World In Sign (WIS) was founded in 2018 with a bold vision: to create a global suite of tools that empower individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind with full access to media and content—through sign language and technology.

Inspired by this mission, Robert J. Mather, a retired deaf attorney from the U.S. Department of Justice, recognized the innovation and talent behind the idea and helped institutionalize it, laying the foundation for WIS as a driving force in accessible communication.

In 2023, Mark Sparger joined as CEO, bringing fresh leadership and expanding WIS’s reach and impact while staying true to its founding mission.

Since then, WIS has become a pipeline for emerging talent and a leader in high-quality, inclusive media production and communication services—championing accessibility on a global scale
